At Hearing Exchange we want to ensure the very best outcomes for your hearing needs. Accordingly, we only offer hearing aids that are to be fitted in physical locations around Victoria by qualified and experienced clinicians. You can reserve and order your hearing aids online. The hearing aids you order will be shipped to one of our fitting centres selected by you, where you will attend a comprehensive consultation which will include a hearing assessment and the fitting of your reserved hearing aids. The balance of your hearing aid order is payable at this appointment (unless you have opted to pay in full at the time of ordering).
Hearing Exchange offers two payment options for your new hearing aids.
• You can pay for your complete order including hearing aids and consultation fee package upfront through our secure payment gateway (VISA, Mastercard and Paypal).
• You can pay a deposit alone upfront, with the balance of your hearing aids payable at your fitting appointment.
We guarantee to offer the lowest price on hearing aids in Australia, so if you find one of our hearing aids at a lower price anywhere in Australia, we will match the hearing aid price and beat it by 5% subject to the following conditions:
The hearing aid must be brand new Australian sourced stock from authorized dealers of that brand.
Applies only to the cost of the hearing aid - excludes consultation charges.
The hearing aids are sold in Australia.
The hearing aids are provided with a face to face consultation.
The hearing aids must be an identical model.
Excludes hearing aids sold on eBay and other online auction sites
Excludes second hand or refurbished hearing aids
We can source any current hearing aid or accessory from the major manufacturers available in Australia. If you cannot find what you are looking for, please contact us and we will source it for you.
Our 100% peace of mind satisfaction guarantee enables you to return your hearing aids for a full refund, on a no questions asked basis, within 30 days of fitting. A restocking fee of $195 per hearing aid will be retained. This is to cover the cost of returning the hearing aids to the supplier and the professional fees we pay to the audiologist.
As service is of utmost importance, if you prefer, we will endeavour to reconfigure your hearing aids as best possible. However, if you are still dissatisfied, you can return them subject to our returns policy conditions. Click for our returns policy.
Hearing Exchange is presently based in East Malvern, Victoria. Our clinic is just across from Chadstone Shopping Centre.
Most hearing aids come with a standard 3 year Australian warranty (generally 12 month international). Further warranty information can be found on each product page. Your warranty can be extended by a further 1 or 2 years for an extra charge. Please see specific product pages for further details.
Private health insurance rebates may be available depending on your Insurer and your level of cover. Please contact your private health insurer for more information.
Should your hearing aids become damaged during warranty period, you can send the hearing aids to our head office (by registered mail) where we will examine them to determine if they can be fixed by our team (at no cost). If they are unable to be fixed by us, we will send them to the manufacturer for repair at no cost. Whilst most warranty repairs will return from the manufacturer with their program setting intact, should they require reprogramming, we will reprogram them to your last settings before shipping them back to you. Hearing aids which are out of warranty will be subject to repair charges. We will advise of these charges before conducting repairs. Typical repair charges range from $150 - $400.
We strongly suggest you insure your hearing aids for damage with your home and contents insurance provider. Your insurer will often include it in your policy at no extra charge however policy excesses may apply on claims made. Alternatively, you may incur a small fee, similar to insuring a piece of jewellery.
If your hearing aids become damaged beyond repair (excluded under warranty), most hearing aid brands will replace them within 12 months of purchase, subject to an excess (normally $500 to $700 per hearing aid).

As Hearing Exchange does not presently have a contract with the Office of Hearing Services, we cannot provide subsidised hearing aids through the scheme. You are welcome, however to purchase as a private client, and in most cases you will still save a considerable amount of money, as our discounts are often significantly greater than the subsidy provided by the Government.

Our general consultations are billed at $180 per hour, and are billed in 15 minute intervals.
Some examples are:
General service/hearing aid clean - $45-$90
Annual reassessment and hearing aid adjustment - $135-$180
Accessory programming - $90
Hearing aid tune and reprogram - $90
At present, Hearing Exchange does not offer any annual or lifetime maintenance packages.
Hearing Exchange has elected to partner with Recycled Sound and The Victorian Hearing Aid Bank at Better Hearing Australia, non for profit organisations that provide free hearing aids to those on low incomes who do not have access to Government funded programs.
Donated hearing aids will be forwarded to these organisations for reconditioning and redistribution to those in need. In recognition of your generous donation, you will receive a $50 voucher per hearing aid donated, which is redeemable against any new pair of hearing aids purchased from Hearing Exchange (regardless of which payment option is selected) at time of payment of the hearing aids. The voucher is not redeemable against batteries or accessories. Your invoice will be adjusted to reflect your extra discount.
